Amergis is the healthcare staffing business formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing; the company was founded in 1988 in Columbia, Maryland, split its staffing and home health units in 2022, and rebranded the staffing unit as Amergis in April 2024. It places RNs, LPNs, CNAs, allied health, school-based and government/correctional staff in per diem, local contract and travel assignments through about 75 offices in 32 states.
